Spot opens by Nádraží Holešovice: an adventure playground on a formerly dead site

The multi-use space between Plynární and Vrbenského streets combines an adventure playground where children build their own structures from loose materials, sports facilities and a rest zone. According to mayor Jan Čižinský it is the district's third such place this year, after the football pitch under the railway bridge at Vltavská and the basketball courts under the Barikádníků bridge. The district is collecting suggestions for what to add next.

Prague 5 puts two million into children's sport, a thousand koruna per child

The Active City programme opens on 7 September and runs until the money is gone, at the latest to 9 December. A family gets a thousand koruna per child in two electronic vouchers of five hundred. The district set aside the same sum as last year; it joined the scheme in 2020, among the first in Prague.

Klimentská closes to cars until eight in the morning. Prague 1 gets its first school street

On weekdays between 7 and 8 a.m. motor vehicles are barred from the stretch of Klimentská by the Jiří Guth-Jarkovský primary school, from U Nemocenské pojišťovny to the Barvířská junction. The district has set it up as a one-year trial. School streets have thus started in three Prague districts within a week: after the seventh and eighth, now the centre.

Streets by schools in Prague 7 got paintings straight onto the asphalt

Rajská, Plynární and Jablonského near Nádraží Holešovice have been painted under an asphalt-art scheme; Antonínská follows in September. Pupils themselves helped shape the places they walk through to school. The paint is meant to slow traffic where there is neither time nor money for construction work.
