A new 2.3 kilometre road links Lochkov and Slivenec to take through traffic out of the villages

The Prague roads authority TSK has taken over a new 2,286 metre local road between Lochkov and Slivenec. It was built in 300 days by rebuilding a site road left over from the construction of the Prague Ring and links K Cikánce and K Lahovské streets; the contractor was SWIETELSKY stavební. It is meant to move through traffic away from the residential parts of Lochkov, Velká Chuchle, Slivenec and Radotín and speed up access to the motorways and the ring road.

The Petřín funicular runs again from 22 September, a single ticket costs 100 crowns

The Prague public transport company will reopen the Petřín funicular on Tuesday 22 September after two years, initially in trial operation. Two new panoramic cars from the Swiss maker Doppelmayr will run daily from 7:00 to 22:15 every ten minutes and will no longer stop at Nebozízek on the way down. A single fare rises from 60 to 100 crowns, or 90 in the PID Lítačka app; season passes, 24 and 72 hour tickets, the Prague Visitor Pass and free travel for children under 15 and people over 65 remain valid. Step-free access to the stations is not yet in place and is planned for 2029 and 2030.

The 145 tunnel bus will stop at Kuchyňka by the Pelc-Tyrolka campus from 29 September

Bus line 145, the so-called tunnel bus, will also stop at Kuchyňka from 29 September 2026. The stop improves service to the university campus at Pelc-Tyrolka and gives it a direct link to Dejvice. Prague 8 had long pushed for the change.

Residents near Opatov will pay 1,760 crowns for a space instead of 2,200

The monthly rent for a resident space in the new P+R Opatov car park drops from 2,200 to 1,760 crowns, a fifth less, which works out at just under 59 crowns a day. In the underground garage of the nearby Opatovská shopping centre the list price for a long-term space is 3,000 crowns. The building has 495 spaces and at least a hundred are set aside for residents. The first round of applications covers Šalounova, U Chodovského hřbitova, Křejpského, Lečkova, Jašíkova and Nad Opatovem streets; if the quota is not filled, it will widen to other Prague 11 residents. A tenant does not get a named space but may use whichever are free. The district negotiated the discount with City Hall from the moment applications opened; the contracts will be signed by the roads authority TSK.

The Dědina car park opens with 290 spaces and starts on trial

A car park with 290 spaces has opened on the Dědina housing estate in Prague 6; the city built it and the roads authority TSK has taken over its operation. Eight spaces are widened to 3.5 metres for wheelchairs and prams, another eight have electric-car charging. The building stands next to the recently opened tram line, has three floors above ground and a sunken basement, and came out of an architectural competition won by the Ivan Kroupa architekti studio. The northern wall facing the neighbouring block is partly closed for noise reasons; the façade and the roof pergola are to be covered with climbing greenery.

Bus 137 runs for the last time on 21 September; trolleybuses take over Malvazinky

Bus route 137 makes its last run on Monday 21 September and trolleybus route 52 takes over in full service, having until now run with a single vehicle. One thing changes for passengers: every second service will run the longer way from Na Knížecí to Jinonice, at weekends too — the bus went there on weekdays only and most services terminated at Waltrovka. Full service became possible as the transport company took delivery of new Bozankaya SNG 12T trolleybuses. On Malvazinky and Peroutkova the noise of bus engines on the hill disappears; going downhill a trolleybus does not waste the energy but stores it in batteries or returns it to the wires.

Twelve Prague roadworks reopened at once before 1 September

Traffic is fully restored on twelve sites across the city: Kbelská finished on 13 August, then Plzeňská, Radlická and Jaromírova, with work also done on the Pod Krejcárkem, Moskevská and Hlávkův bridges. The timing was deliberate — the heaviest work was scheduled for the summer holidays precisely so the key restrictions would be gone before 1 September, when city traffic jumps.

Plzeňská reopens to traffic after seven months

The rebuild of the Mozartova – Pod Kotlářkou stretch is finished. Road markings come down on the evening of Friday 28 August and full traffic returns on Saturday morning. Three organisations shared one trench from February on. They were the city roads authority TSK, the water utility PVS and the gas distributor PPD. That is why the street closed once instead of three times in a row.
