The Smíchov City investor gives the city 120 million, part of it for a school for 580 children
Hrotano Czech, the investor behind the new Smíchov City quarter, is donating 120 million crowns to the city for transport infrastructure and a new primary school; Prague's city assembly approved accepting the gift in September. The school for 580 children on former railway land is expected to cost about 1.16 billion crowns and, according to the mayor of Prague 5, could open by 2030; the city took over its construction from the district in July. Beyond the gift, the investor will build two parks, a boulevard with shops and a public space by the Radlická kulturní sportovna, whose design will be decided by an architectural competition by the end of 2027.

Renovation of Kampa park can begin after the competition authority upheld the 51.9 million contract
The Office for the Protection of Competition upheld how Prague 1 awarded the renovation of Kampa park; the decision is final and the district can sign the contract. The Konsorcium park KAMPA won with a bid of 51,899,816 crowns excluding VAT, about 16.7 million less than the approved budget. The paths keep their current layout, and the project brings new trees and shrubs, Prague-style lanterns, a fence along the Čertovka, drinking fountains, misting points and a shaded playground. The park will not close as a whole; the district will publish the timetable once it is agreed with the contractor.

The former Klar Institute for the Blind has a building permit and should open to the public after renovation
The Office for Government Representation in Property Affairs has obtained a building permit to renovate the former Klar Institute for the Blind in Prague's historic centre, built between 1906 and 1909. The building once housed a physical culture centre with a swimming pool and Prague's first public sauna, and from 1993 a district prosecutor's office; it is being renovated for the Office of the Government. Detailed construction documents and an open tender for a contractor still come first, and the announcement gives neither a start date nor a cost. The Office of the Government wants to open the building to the public as widely as possible for exhibitions and educational programmes.

ARETE
Poland completed 5.6 flats per thousand people last year, Czechia 3.1, the property group ARETE has calculated
Poland completed 208,800 flats in 2025 and Czechia 33,430; per thousand inhabitants that is 5.59 against 3.06, roughly 83 per cent more. Housing starts were 212,400 against 35,819. If Czechia built at the same rate, ARETE says, it would add about 61,000 flats a year instead of 33,000. Logistics is the other way round: Czechia has 1.26 square metres of modern warehouse space per person, Poland 1.02.
