The modulreaktor.cz portal offers Czech firms ten tenders to supply Rolls-Royce small reactors

The Czech Energy Association and the Chamber of Commerce have launched modulreaktor.cz, a portal listing Rolls-Royce SMR tenders for supplies to its small modular reactors; ten have been published so far. The contracts cover not only projects in Czechia but the whole fleet planned in Britain and Europe, and Rolls-Royce SMR is to choose its main suppliers by the end of 2027. Firms must register directly with Rolls-Royce SMR, the associations check their basic eligibility and ČEZ passes the information on; Rolls-Royce SMR makes the choice.

Editor's note. The release does not say what the contracts are worth. It comes from associations representing the firms that are bidding.

ČEZ has connected five solar plants worth 23 MWp this year and aims for 240 by year-end

Since the start of the year the ČEZ group has put five photovoltaic plants with a combined 23 MWp into operation: Nákladka, Vajmanka, Chladící věže, Vlečka and Osek u Rokycan. By the end of the year the installed capacity of its solar plants should approach 240 MWp; for 2027 and 2028 the company announces hundreds more megawatts, some combined with batteries. It builds mainly on brownfields and industrial sites where a grid connection and infrastructure already exist. It plans to put up to 40 billion crowns into zero-emission sources by 2030.

Editor's note. ČEZ is writing about its own plants. It does not say what the five cost; the figure of 30,000 households' consumption refers to all plants built in recent years, not to these five.

Three quarters of towns feel climate change, eleven percent have a water plan

A survey of 300 local authorities in spring 2026: 73 % of towns and villages feel the effects of climate change strongly or partly, but only 11 % have a finished water management strategy and 84 % admit they have no comprehensive plan. Against the 2023 measurement, preparedness has not materially improved.

Editor's note. Who paid to find out that towns lack water management systems? The firm that makes them. How the 300 authorities were picked and what they were asked is nowhere to be found.

ČEZ tests a turbine model for the pumped storage plant at Orlík

ČEZ and the Slovenian firm Litostroj are testing a turbine model for a plant meant to be built at Orlík after 2033 and to become the country's fourth large pumped storage facility.

Editor's note. ČEZ is writing about its own project. When it gets permission, what it costs and why „after 2033“ of all dates — none of that.
